Swissaid together with its partner organization TABIO (Tanzanian Alliance for Biodiversity) organized a workshop to find options for creating space in Tanzania’s seed regulation, taking place 28 to 30 July in Dar es Salaam. Experts from EU, Ethiopia, Mali, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia presented experiences from their countries on seed legislation that are more enabling for farmers seeds. During the workshop participants, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Tanzania Agricultural Reseach Institute, Tanzania Official Seed Certification Institute, African Union Commission, EALA Parliamentarian and numerous CSO elaborated options to be implemented in Tanzania.
